Over recent decades, Hoya has built up a rich tradition in the field of high value, high index materials. Breakthrough plastic materials such as Eyas 1.60, Eyry 1.70 and PNX 1.53 are today recognized as classics in their field, setting the highest standards in terms of: - Reliability - Stability - Heat resistance - Optical purity When Hoya enhances these materials with top quality treatments, such as the successful Hoya Hard Coating, Hi-Vision antireflective coating with Aquacoat or a View Protect top layer, you can rest assured that the same strict standards are maintained. |

Unique characteristics offer new opportunities Hoya’s Suntech is an intelligent lens because of the way it adjusts itself to varying light conditions. The colors lighten and darken with amazing speed, and at every stage the material retains its attractive color, both indoors and outdoors. With an exceptional life-span and 100% protection against harmful UV rays, Suntech is the ultimate durable and reliable photochromic lens. |

Technology with the Hoya stamp Striving for premium quality is one thing, maintaining those standards in all conditions is another issue altogether. In order to guarantee these attributes to clients, Hoya develops all its materials and technologies in-house. This ‘Hoya-stamp’ of quality affords us an independent position and ensures that, in close cooperation with opticians like yourself, we can continue to develop and introduce highly sophisticated materials and technologies in the future. |

Our Spin Coating technique ensures a constant 30-micron thin photochromic
|
A classic example of the stringent quality requirements that Hoya sets itself is the unique Spin Coating technique that is used for the Eyas 1.60 Suntech. Using advanced, fully computer-controlled equipment, the photochromic material is unilaterally applied to the surface in an exceptionally accurate manner. The photochromic molecules are then activated. During the follow-up treatment, special emphasis is placed on the adhesion to the basic high index plastic Eyas 1.60, a reliable composite with a long life-span. |
